Awesome Native American

Lot of 4 Very Old

Clay Tavern Pipes
/ Trade Pipes

These are an excellent lot of 4 early American clay tavern
pipe artifacts from the 1800's. They came from various areas of the eastern
United States. These pipes were called
tavern pipes because the taverns of old would provide them for customer use.
Each time a customer was done smoking it, a small portion of the stem would be
broken off, so it would be clean for the next customer. Needless to say, these
pipes may have been used. I have several available, so please use the pictures
for the description of condition. The pipe stems have been broken down and there
are some chips here and there. (Again, Please Check The Pictures) The lot you
see is the lot you get!

Clay pipes were very popular from their introduction. They were
heavily traded to the Native Americans and widely used by the settlers. These
are great pieces of early American history and will make a great gift or
addition to any collection.
Please check the pictures, they are
worth a
thousand words...
