Vintage Clay Pipe Bowl Is The Head Of Robert E. Lee Dated April 9, 1865

This very early CLAY PIPE features the HEAD of GENERAL ROBERT E. LEE.
Although the Pipe has the date of APPOMATTOX on one side, it was probably created at a later date, maybe for a Reunion?
In addition to General Lee's head there is information carved on either side head. On the left, just under his beard, is "C S A" and on the stem is "R. E. LEE". On the right, just under his beard are 3 stars, and on the stem is "APRIL 9, 1965" and "APPOMATOX".
The Pipe is in good condition, no flakes, chips or cracks, but does have some surface soiling. The Pipe is 2" from stem to front and is 2' tall. The bowl is 1" across.
The Pipe is one of several that I am listing and will be listing. They were purchased from the estate of a long-time collector.
