Antique clay pipe stem found in Eastham, MA.  Research shows it was most likely produced as a commemorative souvenir when the Wallace monument was opened to the public in 1869.  McDougall was a Glasgow maker established in 1846 as "The Glasgow Pipe Manufactory".  The name of the company was changed to "D. McDougall and Co." in 1871.  This pipe stem does not have the "and Co." or "& Co." after the name which likely places it between the years 1869-1871.
